Where can I park my car?
We have a few parking spots available for our guests for a reasonable extra charge. The upside? It's the cheapest option and just around the corner of the hostel. Please contact us directly for prices and availability.
You rather wish to park for free? We understand! However, unfortunately free parking in Leuven doesn't exist anymore. If you wish to park for free, you'll have to go out of town and come back walking or with public transport.
Do you have a safe place to store my bike?
Yes, we do! For only €5 per night per bike you can put your bike in our private parking. It's just around the corner of the hostel. Just drop us an email with your request or simply ask for it at reception upon arrival.
What if I want to check out before reception opens?
You're an early riser? No worries, just go out by the side entrance and drop your key in the mailbox!
Do you have an age policy? Under 18?
Whether you're 80 or 18, everybody is welcome! However, guests who are under 18 and travelling without an adult must bring a written parental consent form and a copy of the signing parent's ID in order to stay in our hostel. Additionally, guests under 18 can only stay in our dorms if they are part of a group that has booked out the entire dorm room and each member has the required documentation outlined above.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes you can, if you didn't book a non-refundable rate. Depending on your booked rate plan and your time of cancellation, some fees may apply. Make sure you check our cancellation policy in this FAQ section. Please note that Group Bookings have a different cancellation policy!
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be sent in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org and are only valid if confirmed in writing by CUBE Hostel.
CANCELLATIONS OR MODIFICATIONS of STANDARD BOOKINGS (less than 8 guests)
- more than 48 hours prior to the Arrival Date --> free of charge
- less than 48 hours prior to the Arrival Date --> equivalent of first night's stay will be charged
- no show --> full amount of your reservation will be charged
CANCELLATIONS OR MODIFICATIONS of GROUP BOOKINGS (equal to or more than 8 guests)
- more than 2 weeks prior to the Arrival Date --> free of charge
- less than 2 weeks but more than 48 hours prior to the Arrival Date --> 50% of total amount will be charged
- no show --> full amount of your reservation will be charged
CANCELLATIONS OR MODIFICATIONS of NON-REFUNDABLE BOOKINGS are not possible.
I don't have a credit card. How can I book?
Unfortunately we cannot accept bookings without a valid credit card. Therefore you cannot book by phone or email. We kindly ask you to do a booking through our website.
Please note that all Group Bookings require a valid credit card for checkin as well.
Can I pay for my room using cash?
Yes! You can pay in cash at the reception. Just bear in mind you'll need a credit card to guarantee your booking.
How can I do a Group Booking?
That's easy! Please fill out the group form here and we'll be in touch within 48 hours with a detailed offer.
I haven't received a confirmation, what should I do?
If all went well, you should have received a confirmation email with all booking details. If not, please get in touch with us directly.
Make sure you checked your spam folder first.
How long can I stay at the hostel?
30 days is the maximum lenght of stay. Please contact us directly if you would like to stay longer.
Can I be sure all my friends will be put into the same dorm room?
Well, if you want to be sure, we kindly advise you to book a private room. It's the only way to be a 100% sure.
In all other cases, we'll do our absolute best to organize it the way you prefer. No promises however!
Arriving and Checking In
What are the reception opening hours?
Monday to Saturday (10:00 - 21:00)
Sunday (10:00 - 18:00)
In case of emergency, please call +32 16 89 45 85.
What time is Check-in / Check-out?
Lazy Check-Out: 13:00 (extra charge of €2 per person)
Please note that a late check out (after 11:00 and before 13:00) may result in a lazy check-out fee being charged.
What do I need to Check-in?
You must have a valid ID-card or passport to check-in. No other proof of identity will be accepted.
Can I store my luggage before and after check-in / check-out?
Yes, no problem! If you arrive early or want to go for a walk in town after check-out, you can store your luggage in our secure day storage for free. Just make sure to pick it up during reception hours.
Can I arrive in the middle of the night?
Unfortunately you can't. We kindly ask you to respect our opening hours.
If for some reason you cannot make it during reception hours, please let us know. We might be able to help you depending on the situation.
If you do not inform us beforehand, you won't be able to access the hostel!
Can I gain access to the hostel at night?
Yes, but only if you're already checked in. We have a side entrance that works 24/7 if you have a key card.
If you're not checked in yet, and you didn't inform us beforehand of a late arrival, unfortunately you won't be able to get access to the hostel.
Can I bring guests who aren't staying in the hostel?
You are welcome to bring friends during reception opening hours into the lobby and bar of our hostel. Visitors are not allowed beyond these areas.
How do I get to the hostel from the airport / train / bus station?
ARRIVING BY PLANE IN BRUSSELS
You're lucky! The train station is just underneath the airport and has a direct connection that brings you to Leuven in only 15 minutes. Get off in Leuven, there's only one train station.
ARRIVING BY TRAIN IN LEUVEN
The central train and bus station is located 1.5 km from the hostel, an easy 15 min walk that will take you through the beautiful city centre. Buses are also available all over town for easy transportation.
+/- 15 min. walk from LEUVEN STATION:
- When you arrive in Leuven Train Station, you take the pedestrian tunnel under the station exit “Leuven”.
- Upon exiting the tunnel you head diagonally left across "Margarethaplein" (the large square) towards the big shopping street “Bondgenotenlaan”.
- Follow the shopping street to the end (+/- 1km), then you arrive at "Rector De Somerplein".
- Turn left unto the "Grote Markt" (Grand Market), walk around the church to the bottom of the square and continue through the "Brusselsestraat" (Dexia bank on the corner).
- Subsequently you find us at number 110 (+/- 400m) in the "Brusselsestraat".
- Say 'Hellooooo!' ;)
Do you have WiFi?
Sure we do! We have free highspeed WiFi everywhere in the hostel.
Are the bathrooms private?
Yes, all rooms have a private en-suite bathroom with a fantastic rain shower!
Should I bring my own linen?
No, linen is included in the price. For hygienic reasons it's not allowed to bring your own linen. This includes sleeping bags and sort like linen.
Should I bring my own towel?
Yes, you can. Or you can also rent a towel at reception for €2/towel. You can use it for your complete stay.
Do you have lockers in the rooms?
Yes, we do! Every locker has a power outlet so you can safely charge your electronics. Don’t forget to bring a padlock. In case you forgot yours, you can buy one at reception for €5.
Are there hair dryers?
Yes, we provide them for free. Just come and pick one up at the reception and leave an ID until you return it.
Do you have laundry facilities?
Yes, we do! Just ask at reception to open up the facilities so you can wash your laundry for €5 and dry it for €3.50.
Does your hostel provide access for disabled people?
Yes, in most cases we do. Please contact us directly for more information to make sure we can life up to the expectations.
Are the beds single or double?
All of our beds are single beds. In case of a double room, you'll have two comfy single beds next to each other.
Food and Drinks
Do you serve breakfast? How much does it cost?
Wanna kickstart the day? Have a simple and delicious breakfast which includes fresh bread, spreads, ham, cheese, fruits, cereals, yoghurt, juices, coffee, tea and more! And best of all... You can make your own pancakes! We hook you up with the fresh dough!
Breakfast is served on a daily basis from 08:00 - 11:00 in the guest kitchen and cost €4 per person.
Do you have a guest kitchen?
We have a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven, microwave, cups, plates, glasses, etc. Feel free to use this facility to create your own dishes.
Do you serve lunch and dinner?
Unfortunately we don't. We just serve a killer breakfast. However, you are more than welcome to use our kitchen facilities to prepare your own meals.
What time does the bar open and close?
Monday to Thursday (10:00 - 21:00)
Friday to Saturday (10:00 - 22:00)
Sunday (10:00 - 18:00)
The bar closes at 22:00 in the weekend to respect all guest and guarantee the desired comfort for people who would like to tuck in early. Feel free to head into town! The old market has more to offer than you can ever cope with.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Yes and No!
You can bring your own food and drinks if it's for personal use in the kitchen area only. Drinking parties in the kitchen are not allowed. This is a shared facility, which should be comfortable for all guests.
Bringing your own drinks into the bar and lounge area is not allowed. We have a seriously cool bar that provides practically all you can desire.
Can I pre-book my breakfast?
Absolutely! We actually prefer you do, for organisational reasons. You can book it as an extra when booking online through our website or ask at the reception upon arrival.
Can I bring children?
Yes, you can! All children are welcome, however we don't provide baby beds. Children can only stay in private rooms with their parents or responsible adult(s).
Baby's younger than 3 years old stay for free.
Is there a curfew or lockout?
No. We have a side entrance that is open 24/7 for hostel guests who already checked in.
Is there a female only dorm?
No, all of our dorms are mixed. However, you can book a private room if you like to be separated.
Does your hostel allow pets?
Unfortunately you can't bring any pets into the hostel. Guide dogs are an exception and are more than welcome.
Can I smoke in the hostel?
Cube Hostel is a NON smoking building. Anyone who breaks this rule will be fined.
Do you have any events in the hostel?
From time to time we have some events in our hostel. Please, take a look at our social media calender for more information.
Can I get something delivered to the hostel?
Yes, that's possible. Just make sure to inform us at the reception so we know what to expect.
