What is a hostel anyway?

Traditionally, hostels offer affordable accommodation for people travelling on a tight budget. Accommodation is usually in dorm rooms, which may have a bath in the room or down the hall. While hostels are a cheaper alternative to hotels that’s not the only reason travellers, especially young people, have been using them for years.

Hostelling is a great way to meet other travellers and to learn about the places you will be visiting from people who have already been there. Beyond that, as hostels gain in popularity they are alsobecoming increasingly distinctive. At Cube Hostel we offer both dorm and private rooms, include bed linens and taxes in the cost of your stay, and do not have curfews and lockouts.

What do I need to check-in?

You must have an ID-card or passport. No other proof of identity will be accepted.

When is Check-in / Check-out?

Check-in: from 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 7 pm.
If you check in in the morning we cannot promise your bed will be ready, but you can leave your stuff in the secure luggage store. Your bed will be available from 3 pm.
If for any reason you can’t make it between these hours, please let us know in advance.
Check-out: between 9 am and 12pm
If you are an early bird and wish to check-out earlier, please let us know in advance.

What time does the cleaning start?

We start at 9 am. We do our very best not to disturb our guests!

When is Breakfast served? Is it included?

Breakfast is served in the guest kitchen between 8 am and 11 am.
Breakfast is not included in the price.

Should I bring a sleeping bag or other linens?

No, linen is included in the price. Don’t forget to bring towels. You can also rent a towel at reception. (2 euro per towel)

Do you have lockers in the rooms?

Yes we do! Every locker has a power point so you can safely charge your electronics. Don’t forget to bring a padlock. In case you forgot yours, you can buy one at reception. (3 euros)

What can I do with all my gear after check-out?

You can store your luggage in our day storage for free after checking out. Just be sure to pick it up during reception hours`

Is there a Curfew or Lockout?

No! We aren’t keeping tabs on you – we do ask that you respect the other guests and be quiet when you return to the hostel.

Can I be in a room with my friends?

We try our best to allocate beds in the same room for friends travelling together. However, due to booking patterns and availability this is not always possible. In cases where we have to split groups we try to accommodate at least 2 of the group together in one room. Please contact us directly for any special requests, including accommodation in the same room.

Can I bring children?

We do not recommend that young children stay in our hostel, as the atmosphere tends to be rather adult. However, if your children are used to hostel life, then please contact the hostel directly and we will let you know if we can accommodate your family. We do not have cribs. Children under 12 years can stay for free in the hostel if they sleep in the same bed as the parent. Children under 16 can only be in private rooms if the entire dorm is rented.

Can I bring visitors into the hostel?

You are welcome to bring friends into the lobby of our hostel. Visitors are not allowed beyond the reception and lobby areas. This is for the security of all our guests who expect us to be able to identify everyone in the building and to provide a secure environment. Please understand that there are no exceptions to this rule. We are more than happy to point you the direction of nearby cafes, bars and restaurants where you can take your visitors.

Do you have WIFI or internet access?

We have free WIFI everywhere in the hostel. There are also two iPads at the disposal of our guests

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be sent in writing to hello@cubehostel.be and are only valid if confirmed in writing by CUBE Hostel.

No shows
If you do not cancel and do not check in on the first day of your booking: A cancellation fee equivalent to one nights' stay per person is applicable.
If your booking is for more than one night, the hostel reserves the right to cancel the
remainder of your booking and resell the bed/room.

Less than 24 hours' notice
A cancellation fee equivalent to one nights' stay per person is applicable. If you cancel within 24 hours you need to contact the hostel directly by phone or e-mail.

More than 24 hours' notice
Your hostel booking will be refunded.

If you need to reschedule your reservation please let us know at least 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date. In this case please send us an e-mail to hello@cubehostel.be

If the reschedule is within 24 hours of the booking, a fee of 25% will be applied.

(10 or more persons)

Group bookings must be cancelled within 1 month prior to the arrival date to avoid any extra costs/charges.

If the cancellation is more than 2 weeks prior to the arrival date
a cancellation fee of 25% will be applied.

If the cancellation is less than 2 weeks prior to the arrival date
a cancellation fee of 50% will be applied.

If the cancellation is part of the booking of max. 4 persons
the individual cancelation policy will be applied.

The total amount of the booking must be paid 2 weeks before the arrival date.

Do you have Laundry Facilities?

Yes we do! You can use the laundry machine (5 euro) and dryer (3.50 euro) between reception hours.

How long can I stay?

21 days is the maximum (please contact us directly if you would like to stay longer)

Can I smoke in the hostel?

Our Hostel is a NON smoking building. Anyone who breaks this rule will be fined.

Do you have a guest kitchen?

We have a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven, microwave, toaster, cups, plates, glasses, etc.

Is there a female only dorm?

We have a 4-bed female only dorm.

Reception Hours?

The reception is open between 9 am and 12 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm.
In case of emergency, please call 0032 16 89 45 85. The answering machine message will tell you what to do.

Where can we park our car?

We have a few parking spots available for our guests for 12 euro per day. Please contact us directly to reserve parking.

Guests with disabilities?

We have a specially adapted room for people with a disability, Please contact us directly to reserve a bed in this room.

I don’t have a credit card. How can I book?

You can send us an e-mail containing your booking request and your contact details. We will get back to you as soon as possible with the information required to make your booking.

Do you accept Group Bookings?

Yes we do, please contact us directly to make a booking for more then 10 persons.

Can I pay in another currency?

We only accept euros. You can also pay by Visa – MasterCard or Maestro at the reception (please note that a service charge of 2% will apply)
